The UFMG Microscopy Center, with the support of BioImag Net, will promote the 1st Edition of Training in Transmission Electron Microscopy for Life Sciences free of charge. The introductory module will take place in the second half of 2024.
The training is aimed at postgraduate students, technicians and professionals in the field of life sciences. The topics covered will be: principles of Transmission Electron Microscopy, sample preparation and image acquisition and evaluation.
The first module will be divided into two stages, the first with theoretical classes available through the Microsoft Teams platform (5 hours). The second stage will be in person, at the UFMG Microscopy Center, with practices (hands-on – 40 hours).

Attention: 12 places will be offered for in-person training (hands on). Only candidates who successfully complete the first stage (theoretical) will be eligible to participate in the selection. In case of more applicants than available places, the selection criteria will include analysis of the curriculum and justification for applying for training.

• For the first stage, it is the participant’s responsibility to ensure access to the Microsoft Teams platform and be familiar with how it works.
• Candidates residing outside of Belo Horizonte may request financing to participate in in-person training. The conditions and requirements for financial support will be informed after the candidates have been selected. Those interested in receiving the aid must send proof of address and fill out the justification for requesting it on the registration form.
• Official communication will be carried out via the Microsoft Teams platform and via the email registered at the time of registration. It is the participant’s responsibility to keep contact details up to date and regularly check messages sent by training organizers.
• The participant must meet the deadlines established for completing the modules and activities.
• Active participation and commitment to the proposed activities are essential for successful completion of the course.
• In case of cancellation, the participant must inform the organizers in advance.
• The certificate of participation will be issued after completing the steps, one certificate referring to the theoretical module and the other to the practical module.
