The BioIMG Network, in partnership with the Center for Microscopy at UFMG, hosted its first theoretical–practical training module on cryogenic sample preparation. Participants were introduced to key cryo workflows, including:
- Plunge freezing
- High-pressure freezing
- Cryo-electron microscopy
These techniques are essential for preserving the ultrastructure of biological materials and are widely applied in cell biology, virology, pharmacology, and nanotechnology.
Highlights:
- 61 participants from 13 Brazilian states.
- 9 trainees selected for hands-on practice.
- 40 hours of hands-on training.
- 3 hours of video content made available on YouTube.

- 4 hours of live sessions with specialists.
- 1,119 video views.
This module is part of BioIMG’s effort to expand specialized training opportunities in advanced bioimaging techniques across Minas Gerais and Brazil.
