Participation in the First Training in Scanning Electron Microscopy at UFMG represented a valuable opportunity for technical and scientific improvement. The course enabled the expansion of theoretical knowledge on the fundamentals of SEM, providing a deeper understanding of operating principles, optimal working conditions, and the analytical potential of the equipment. It also broadened theoretical understanding of the stages and processes involved in sample preparation, especially regarding the use of the critical point drying. This advancement directly contributed to the qualification of the professionals in our multiuser laboratory, strengthening both individual training and the collective performance of the team.

I had the opportunity to participate in training courses in transmission and scanning electron microscopy, including cryo-techniques, offered by the Microscopy Center of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, in both in-person and online formats. These experiences were highly enriching, as they provided me with practical skills that I now apply in my postdoctoral research on nanotoxicology in zebrafish, where microscopic tissue analysis is essential. Before the course I had no practical experience with sample preparation techniques and now I am capable of and even able to assist some researchers with samples preparation techniques for electron microscopy. Beyond the technical knowledge, the most valuable outcome was the networking: I remain in contact with colleagues I met during the courses, exchanging scientific insights, some of whom have become friends and potential collaborators.

The microscopy courses have significantly influenced improvements in the technical laboratory team at UFERSA (Brazil) and UFRN (Brazil). We diversified the interaction protocols with biomaterials through a partnership with the Microscopy Center - UFMG, approved microscopy and techniques courses in the graduate programs at UFERSA and UFRN, and are participating in the LABI network (recommended by the CM-UFMG team) to increase visibility and networking with researchers in the field of microscopy. These courses have motivated the team to enhance and transform the electron microscopy laboratory into a multidisciplinary space for research and education in our state ( Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil).
